We were trying to figure out which color appeared most in each bag of M&M's. We thought yellow would appear most in the bags because yellow is a happy color, to appeal to the consumers eyes. Also yellow is a primary color, so it would be cheaper to make.

In order for my group to find out how many of each color there was we separated the M&M’s into groups with just their color and then we counted each group. Then, to get the total number of M&M’s we counted all of them as one group and that gave us a total number.

According to the data we found that blue was the color of m&m that showed up the most frequently. We thought that yellow would be the one to show the most but it was actually one of the lower ranked colors.

So you can see, our hypothesis was not correct. Data showed that yellow was not the most common color; however, it was one of the least common. Once again, our hypothesis was that yellow would be the most common color because it is happy and appealing, and it is also cheapest to make due to being a primary color and a light shade. Hence, results obviously proved us wrong when we found yellow was one of the least common colors out of the six.

Histogram- graph made with bars and labeling as a way of comparing data
Pie chart- chart made with different colored and sized parts or percentages of a circle to compare data
Inference- educated guess or conclusion that is backed up by data
